Minot man arrested on child pornography charges following national tip
A 29-year-old man is in custody in Minot on charges he uploaded hundreds of files depicting child pornography to the internet, following an investigation into a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Prosecutors have charged Brynner Rennecke with 10 counts of possession of certain materials prohibited.
According to the criminal affidavit, Rennecke admitted to investigators to downloading and uploading the material using mobile apps.
Rennecke is serving a life registration as a high-level sex offender for previous convictions through Morton County Juvenile Court, according to online records.
Rennecke made his initial appearance on the charges Monday. He’ll be arraigned Feb. 13.
He remains in custody in the Ward County Jail, and faces the chance of up to 50 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
