Minot man arrested on burglary, terrorizing charges

MINOT, N.D. – Minot Police arrested a 22-year-old man early Saturday morning on charges he broke into a home on the city's northwest side and threatened two people with a gun.

Jonathan Geers faces four felony charges—burglary, reckless endangerment, and two counts of terrorizing.

Investigators say that the victims told them Geers entered their home, tried to fight with the man, began waiving around a loaded gun, and at one point fired it.

They say Geers threatened to kill them, and also insisted on taking a dog from the home.

Police diffused the situation and took Geers into custody.

No one was struck by the bullet.

Geers made his initial court appearance on the charges Monday. He has since bonded out and will be back in court for his preliminary hearing and arraignment Aug. 29.
