Minot first responders honored with 'Heartsaver Hero' award

MINOT, N.D. - A group of first responders were honored by the American Heart Association for their efforts in saving a woman's life last month.

A 21-year-old woman suffered a sudden cardiac arrest in a parking lot on the city's southwest side on Nov. 7.

Thanks to citizens on scene who performed CPR, and quick action by firefighters and paramedics, the woman was rushed to the emergency room and survived.

The group earned the ‘Heartsaver Hero’ award at Monday night’s Minot City Council meeting, and received a standing ovation from those in attendance.
