Minot city leaders to poll public on proposed recycling program
The Minot City Council approved a motion to poll the magic city before taking measures to implement a recycling program.
The city will conduct a survey asking residents whether they would participate in a recycling program.
The results of the survey would be used to determine if the city will move forward with plans to put in place a voluntary recycling program.
According to city leaders, 4000 residents would have to express a desire to opt-in for the program to make sense financially.
“The beginning years would be the most expensive because you have less people participating and that number stabilizes right around that 4000 number,” said Jason Sorenson, Minot Public Works assistant director.
The council will discuss how that poll will be funded at its next meeting.
