Minot Public School teachers strike deal on new two-year contract
Teachers with the Minot Public School district struck a deal in principal Tuesday night for a contract through the 2020-21 school year.
The Minot Education Association reached the accord with the Minot Public School board, with more than 100 teachers in attendance of the second round of negotiations.
The deal includes a two-year contract, as opposed to the current one-year deal that needs to be renewed each spring.
Teachers will receive a $1,300 base salary raise for the first year of the contract, and a $1,500 base salary raise the next year.
The agreement is a sharp contrast from the 2018 negotiations, in which the two sides entered an impasse and the deal wasn’t resolved until July.
