MINOT, N.D. - The Scandinavian Heritage Park wasn't the only place in Minot that has been awarded for excellence.

The Minot Public Library was awarded the Star award by the North Dakota State Library Board for going above and beyond expectations for it's services and programs for the community.

Staff say that they hope they can keep this tradition of excellence going.

“It's validation for all our hard work and we do a lot of programs and services for people so it feels nice to be recognized for that but it also gives me kind of an extra push to keep going for that if they are going to continue doing this award, I hope we will get this every year,” said Janet Anderson, Minot Public Library director.

Other library's in the state that were recognized were the Bismarck Public Library and the Dickinson Public Library.
