Minot Police Department shows support for breast cancer

MINOT, N.D. - For the third year now, the Minot Police Department is showing their support for those affected by breast cancer. This month, officers are donning pink badges and pink ribbons on their uniforms.

"This gives us a way to show it while we are in uniform. We can bridge that gap with people who have suffered either in the family or themselves had to deal with cancer. And we are hoping to make that connection and show that we care,” said Captain John Klug.

Klug says about 40 percent of the department is participating this year.

"Between the two campaigns, we run one for women's cancer awareness and one in November, the No Shave November. We have come up with right around $2,000 each year,” said Klug.

The department hopes they can raise even more money for the community this year.
