Minnesota man arrested for possession of 2 1/2 pounds of meth in Bismarck

A Minnesota man is behind bars after being found with 2 1/2 pounds of methamphetamine and trying to grab an officer’s gun.

Court documents say Bismarck police and a state parole and probation officer were conducting a probation search Tuesday at a Bismarck hotel.

Officers entered one of the hotel rooms and found 26-year-old Byron Brown. Documents say when officers took brown out of the room he started resisting and tried to grab an officer's gun.

Officers were eventually able to get Brown in handcuffs.

Officer's searched the room and found a number of drugs and drug paraphernalia including 2 1/2 pounds of meth. Officer's also found $15,000.

Brown has been charged with two counts of possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, disarming or attempting to disarm a law enforcement officer and possession of marijuana.
