Mayor's Committee on Addiction works toward progress

MINOT, N.D. - The Mayor's Committee on Addiction continues to battle the opioid epidemic that is rocking the Magic City.

Tonight's meeting covered the progress made since the committee's inception.

Each of the five subcommittees highlighted needs and how to fill those needs in the community.

Two big take aways: the progress of the two hundred thousand dollar grant the city recently submitted, and a sober living home.

The Mayor says he is happy with the progress that has being made.

"We have made a lot of progress, and the credit goes to the committee and subcommittees that have really delved into the topics and identified the road blocks and gaps in the spectrum of care in Minot," said Mayor Chuck Barney, City of Minot.

The committee has a Facebook page that just went live tonight. The page is called "Help Heal Minot" and will have updates and more as the committee continues their work.
