Massage parlor employee arrested in Minot prostitution bust

MINOT, N.D. – Minot Police arrested a masseuse July 2 in an undercover operation after receiving reports she was offering sexual favors to customers during their appointments.

Ling Zhang, 57, faces a B-misdemeanor prostitution charge.

According to the affidavit filed in Minot municipal court, a Minot detective posed as a customer to receive a massage from Zhang at Bodywork Spa in the Town & Country Shopping Mall.

Investigators say about 36 minutes into the massage, Zhang gestured to the officer’s genitals and asked if that was okay.

They say the officer asked how much and Zhang told him $50.

When Zhang attempted to begin the act, the officer ended the interaction, at which point other investigators entered the facility and placed Zhang under arrest.

Zhang was released on bond and signed a promise to appear, and will be back in municipal court for a pretrial conference Aug. 6.

She faces up to 30 days in jail and up to $1,500 in fines.
