Five hundred fourth through eighth grade kids from across south central North Dakota got to be their own Ben Franklin's Wednesday.
As the North Dakota Heritage Center hosted Marketplace for Kids. The event allows children to come up with their own inventions.
Organizers say it promotes innovation and entrepreneurial spirit among the kids.
"All we're trying to do is get in front of those careers and opportunities and look at entrepreneurship and see if it's something they might like," said Bob Heitkamp.
The event started in 1995 in Jamestown by a group of teachers.
