The 12th annual Power of Pink Cake Auction was Wednesday at North Hills Marketplace Foods, and it was nothing short of amazing.
Different organizations and individuals from across the region came together to create a cake in support of those battling cancer. When everyone was done decorating, the cakes were auctioned off anywhere from $50 to $1,200.
"It gets very emotional, but it's a lot of fun. They look over to try to out-decorate the next person. It's just a lot of fun," said Peggy Kallias, bakery specialist.
Many people were there in support of those battling the disease. Some were cancer survivors themselves, and others are still fighters.
"I feel so blessed to have all the support I've had, and you can get through it, and you can survive it, and you can be healthy again. And I believe that 100 percent. And I've going to believe that for myself," said Teri Tingley, cancer fighter.
The money raised from the auction will go to the Trinity Cancer Rehab at the YMCA, which is free to all cancer patients.
