Mandan man charged after threatening to burn down home

MANDAN, N.D. - A Mandan man has been charged after being accused of pouring gas inside a home with a woman and child inside and threatening to burn it down.

Court documents say Mandan Police were called to a house in Mandan around 6 p.m. Wednesday. When police arrived they say they could smell gasoline inside the home and could see large pools of gas on the floor.

Police spoke with the victim who told them 72-year-old Robert Tesky got drunk and went to the shed to grab a gas can because he wanted to set the house on fire. The victim also told police that Tesky had said he didn't care who was in the house.

When police interviewed Tesky, he told them he wanted everyone out of the house and that he felt it was his house so he could burn it down.

Tesky has been charged with arson, reckless endangerment and terrorizing. His bond has been set at $1,500 and to have no contact with the victims.
