Mandan Marlins' new coach brings new stroke to swim team

MANDAN, N.D. - A new coach with the Mandan Marlins swim team is running the athletes through a week of workshops in the lead-up to their next season.

Coach Alicia Bungum is bringing a new style of training for the club team.

Video run-throughs after practice allow the coach to point out where each swimmer can make improvements.

"The swimmers really respond to that. They love seeing themselves on camera, you know, we're in the video age, but then also it's like a harsh encounter with reality. You can't hide from video, you can't hide from the fact that you didn't kick off your turn, or that you're doing a twisted turn," said head coach Alicia Bungum.

The Mandan Marlins start their season in October.
