UPDATE: Mandan Police make arrest in connection with the Monday morning homicide
UPDATE: Mandan Police have arrested a man in connection with a murder early Monday morning.
Forty-seven-year-old Arthur Funk is accused of stabbing a 53-year-old man in front of his residence in the Country Side mobile home park in Mandan according to Police.
Police said formal charges are pending against Funk.
He is being held in the Burleigh-Morton Detention Center.
UPDATE: Mandan Police said the 53-year-old victim died from wounds consistent of being stabbed by a knife or sharp object.
According to the news release, the man was found dead near his residence in the Country Side Mobile Home Park.
Police said as of 3:00 p.m., a person of interest is being questioned regarding the homicide.
The body is being examined by the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
The name of the victim is not being released due to pending notification of relatives.
The Mandan Police Department said the they do not believe the public is in any danger.
ORIGINAL STORY: Around 3:30 Monday morning, Mandan Police received a report of a 53-year-old male, lying on the sidewalk in a local mobile home court. Officers and ambulance personnel responded.
He was deceased.
Police are currently on scene continuing the investigation. At this time the cause of death is not known. The death is being investigated as a possible homicide.
