UPDATE: 27-year-old dies on Williston State College campus due to apparent drug overdose

WILLISTON, N.D. - UPDATE: The Williston Police Department says a preliminary investigation shows 27-year-old Thomas Ober of Williston died of an apparent drug overdose.

Ober was found in a car parked on the Williston State College campus Tuesday morning. Williston EMS responded, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say they are waiting for an autopsy report before releasing the type of drug.

ORIGINAL STORY 6/6:The Williston Police Department says they responded to a call for an unresponsive man in a vehicle on the Williston State College campus.
The police say it happened around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Williston EMS was dispatched and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Williston Police Department is working together with the BCI, North Dakota Highway Patrol, the Northwest Narcotics Task Force and the Williams County Sheriff's Department to investigate the case.

The identity of the man has not been released at this time. Williston State College officials have confirmed the man is not a current student.
