A 22-year-old Minot man faces felony charges on accusations he raped a girl at a house party in February.

Prosecutors have charged Corey Goodman with A-felony gross sexual imposition and A-misdemeanor corruption of a minor.

According to the criminal affidavit, Goodman and others picked up the victim in Tioga on Feb. 20 and drove to Minot to attend the party on the city’s southwest side.

The victim told investigators that she and Goodman had been communicating over social media for a few days. She said she woke up at the house next to Goodman around 1 p.m. the next day, and was in pain.

Investigators say that Goodman later admitted to both the victim and others that he had had sex with her, though she said she did not consent to having sex with him.

Goodman made his initial appearance on the charge Friday and has since bonded out.

The GSI charge carries with it a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a requirement to register as a sex offender.

Goodman also faces an A-misdemeanor charge of delivery to certain persons unlawful.

Your News Leader reached out to Goodman’s attorney who declined to comment, other than saying that Goodman would be “vigorously contesting the allegations.”
