A man has been charged in connection to the US Bank bank robbery.

Federal court documents say Robert Andrew Wolter is charged with bank robbery in North Dakota.

Wolter is also charged in New Jersey with bulk cash smuggling out of the United States.

Court documents say Wolter was trying to board a flight at Newark Liberty International airport on February 5 around 9 p.m. He was stopped by members of the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

An agent searched Wolter's bag and found $10,595 in it. Wolter had only declared that he was traveling with $6,000 in U.S. currency.

Wolter was trying to fly from New Jersey to Lome, Togo.

Bismarck Police say a man entered US Bank on Expressway in Bismarck on Jan. 15 and approached a bank teller and told the teller, "This is a robbery."

No weapon was displayed and the suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash.
