BISMARCK, N.D. - A Bismarck man is behind bars after police say he assaulted a teenager on May 5.
The affidavit says 22-year-old Dellrae Pelfrey is accused of hitting a 16-year-old after police say he became angry and jealous when seeing the victim had been communicating with other people on the social media app Snapchat.
Police say the victim had a bite mark and heavy bruising to her shoulder, and a split lip from a punch. A witness says Pelfrey choked the victim while she was screaming for help. Documents say the victim tried to call her mom during the assault but Pelfrey broke her phone.
Pelfrey is charged with aggravated assault.
A judge set his bond at $10,000.
