West River Ice Center hosted the 19th annual North Dakota Make a Wish benefit in Dickinson.

A star pathway of all the Make a Wish kids lined the entrance. The ones with wings were children who had passed away.

More than 1,200 people, including past wish members, attended a social event with food, live auctions and dancing.

Kelly Braun says they are on track to surpass last year's record amount of more than $168,000 in six hours.

"You know, we like to get those children to reach for the stars and think about any and everything they can to make it bigger and better and brighter for their wishes. So the more money we raise the easier it is for us to grant those wishes," said Braun.

They've had to move to larger venues as the event continue to grow in size.
