A husband-wife duo are opening a new grill in Bismarck with a ranch-themed menu, featuring chicken and beef items.
CJ's Cock and Bull Grill and Catering celebrated opening day at Lucky's Bar in Bismarck July 11.
Carlos and Jewel Meyer are grilling up fare that's all about the flavor.
"My wife has unbelievable knack for flavoring food and seasonings. So we're pretty excited to display that," said Carlos Meyer, owner, CJ's Cock and Bull Grill and Catering.
The menu offers ranch themed, homemade items including half-pound burgers, wings and wraps.
"Some of the favorites right now are the Bison Balls, a deep fried olive wrapped in bacon, beer battered and deep fried. Another one of the favorites that we found out so far is the Dakota Marker, a mozzarella stick, wrapped in bacon, beer battered and deep fried," said Meyer.
They say opening the restaurant has been a life-long dream.
"Nervous, excited. We've had five days of prepping. Jewel and I have been back here and doing about 14 hour days to get things prepped," said Meyer.
For the under-21 crowd, there's curbside pickup. Carlos says they hope to expand to other locations in the future.
The grill is open from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. inside Lucky's Bar at 2176 East Thayer Ave. in Bismarck.
