MINOT, N.D - Scooter is making huge waves in the Magic City once again, this time with the help of his friend, Julie Marriott.

"I just thought he had an awesome story of how he has overcome daily obstacles and the great personality that he has, and I just wanted to share his story with the Petco Foundation," says Julie Marriott, Scooter's mom.

Scooter has brought joy to many people despite only have two legs. He later received a special set of wheels to move around. Marriott wrote about Scooter's story for the Petco Foundations' Holiday Wishes Grant Campaign and won $10,000 for the Souris Valley Animal Shelter.

"Scooter's story transcends everything that we do as the animal shelter, he really is a rock star. So, the $10,000 that we received today we put directly into our capital campaign; $605,000 of the $1.2 million needed for phase one to start," says Randy McDonald, Executive Director of the Souris Valley Animal Shelter.

This dog's inspirational story has not only captivated Minot, but now the world.

"To have a story out of Minot win it is pretty darn cool and I was really excited when I found out about it. Also, super excited just for the community here to be able to get help from the Petco Foundation," says Jason Mag, Petco Stores District Manager.
