FORT RANSOM, N.D. - A male mountain lion was taken near Fort Ransom, North Dakota Tuesday afternoon.

Jarrett Christoferson from Litchville, ND says the cat was treed by dogs from K-9's Cougar Canyon Outfitters, Inc. and he used a .223 to bring it down.

The cat is estimated to weigh 130 pounds and is almost 7 feet long.

The Game and Fish have been notified and they will examine it further at the taxidermist. Christoferson says at least twenty different taxidermists have contacted him.

Christoferson says he was pursuing the cat since Saturday. He says that it was a "dream of his" to get a mountain lion.
