BISMARCK, ND- Coming up today in state legislature, the Senate will address house bill 1457, also known as the state logo contest bill.
The bill is pretty self-explanatory: a contest would be held to create a new state logo and the winner would receive a $9,500 cash prize. The last logo has been widely unpopular with residents after the department of commerce paid a Minnesota company for the design.
The bill is scheduled for 10:45 this morning.
Up next, the House will hold another committee meeting on senate bill 2315. The bill address hunting rights and land owner rights and which lands would be accessible.
And last, the Senate is voting on a bill that would increase the penalty for fleeing from a police officer. House bill 1296 passed in the House will a vote of 71-20.
