BISMARCK, ND- The land board is reconvening at the state legislature today after questions surfaced on where oil tax money was going.
Land Commissioner Jodi Smith is backing a bill to make sure going forward, 10% of the oil extraction taxes collected go into two constitutional funds for K-12 student payments.
Smith says, the common schools trust fund and the foundation aid stabilization fund were shorted $137 million over the past decade.
Senate bill 2362 is scheduled for 9 this morning in the Brynhild Haugland room.
Senate bill 2181 will appear in the house education committee. The bill would update century code to include cyberbullying in the state's definition of bullying.
