BISMARCK, N.D. - Lawmakers have to fix a typo they made when paying Secretary of State’s salary. The budget bill, which passed through both chambers and was signed, says current Secretary of State Al Jaeger’s salary should be increased to $107,885 until June 30, 2019, before that section of the bill takes effect. The Secretary’s current salary is $105,770.

Office of Management and Budget director Joe Morrissette says the intent was 2020, not 2019. Morrissette says there will be an amendment on his budget correcting the mistake.
