UPDATE: Escaped inmate taken into custody in Wahpeton

BISMARCK, N.D. - UPDATE: The North Dakota Highway Patrol says David Gray was taken into custody by authorities in Wahpeton on Wednesday.

ORIGINAL STORY: Law enforcement is looking for the public’s help after an inmate walked away from the Missouri River Correctional Center.

Representatives with the North Dakota Highway Patrol say David Gray left the facility between 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Monday.

The MRCC is an unfenced minimum security facility in Bismarck.

Gray is believed to be in Wahpeton, according to the release.

He’s considered to be dangerous and potentially driving a 2007 Pontiac G6 ND license plate 784BYK or silver 2004 Suzuki Forenza.

Gray is serving time for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and was scheduled for release in 2021.
