Late Minot State grad donates $4.6 million to school
A former student has made the largest donation to the Minot State University in the school’s history, roughly $4.6 million.
The endowment for the late Janis Dislevy, who graduated from MSU in 1960, formally presented the money Monday.
Dislevy passed away in 2016, but through her life she maintained her connection, not only to Minot, but also to the local university.
“It really is a monumental day for our University. Janis Dislevy was a wonderful alumna of ours. She maintained that contact with Minot State University all through her life. She lived out in California, but she always kept her roots in North Dakota,” said Dr. Steven Shirley, MSU President.
It's an investment, so the $4.6 million itself will remain intact forever.
The earnings on the investment will support the business school faculty each year.
