MINOT, N.D. - Starting in June, some of the youngest golfers will get the chance to head out for some lessons.

The Souris Valley Golf Course in Minot is hosting Girls Rock, Boys Roll, and Little Linksters lessons free of charge.

"You know, golf has been kind of an intimidating game. We are trying to get more people exposed to the game, and for the future of the game, you have to grow the game. I'd like to express to parents who don't golf, don't be intimidated. Bring your kids out we will guide them through the game and hopefully they will take the game up. It's a game of a lifetime,” said Steve Kottsick, director of golf at the Souris Valley Golf Course.

There are three different groups of lessons. The youngest ones ages four to six will start Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. For boys ages seven to 17, their lessons will be Wednesday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Finally, for girls ages seven to 17, classes will be Thursday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

All lessons will begin the week of June 3. It is preferred you bring clubs if you have them.
