Judge denies bond reduction for man who attempted to run over police officer

BISMARCK, N.D. - A man charged with attempted murder after trying to run a police officer over in Bismarck on Jan. 18 appeared in court Wednesday for a bond reduction hearing.

Ulises Villalobos requested to lower his bond to $10,000 or less.

Judge James Hill rejected Villalobos request saying there's risk to the community and law enforcement with Villalobos out in the public.

Hill also said the bond that was set two weeks ago is an appropriate amount, but as the case goes forward the court could allow a bail hearing or a bond hearing at a later date.

Villalobos is charged with attempted murder and fleeing a peace officer.
