BISMARCK, N.D. - For all those heading to the polls Tuesday, each location has its fair share of equipment to set up. Jobbers Moving and Storage is responsible for getting all of the voting machines and booths to each polling spot across Burleigh County.
With less than 24 hours until the polls open, three teams from Jobbers spread out across Burleigh County on Monday morning to deliver the supplies needed for each polling location.
“We have three routes: we have two in town routes, one for north, one for south and then one for out of town,” said David West, Jobbers Dispatch and Warehouse manager.
West says they've been doing this for more than 10 years. This year, they're delivering 32 machines and more than 300 booths to 27 different locations.
“We have to distribute them in a certain amount of time so that Burleigh County can make it to each area we deliver and set up all their equipment,” West said.
And that means working against the clock, and the weather.
“If we're late, tomorrow's Election Day,” West said. “So we can't be late.”
Because not even a little snow or rain can stop Election Day.
West says on Wednesday, they'll head back out to each location, pick up all the equipment, and take it back to the City-County Building to be stored until the next election.
