Jeannette Myhre students 'horse around' as a reward

BISMARCK, N.D. - Students at Jeannette Myhre Elementary in Bismarck got to spend their Friday afternoon horsing around.

The kids had a 7-year-old horse named Sangria come to the school. The school runs an incentive program for kids and Friday’s activity was meeting the horse.

The horse’s owner says Sangria loves being the center of attention and wasn’t fazed by the crowd of a couple hundred students.

John Wangen, the school’s counselor, says activities like this make school a better environment for the kids.

“We want kids to like coming to school, kids to look forward to coming to school. We try to offer incentives for them to do that,” said Wangen.
