CLAY COUNTY, Minn. (Valley News Live) - It’s something the Clay County Sheriff’s Department has never seen before. They tell us a Glyndon family was mailed around 1,200 lethal doses of fentanyl Tuesday night.

Deputies with the Clay County Sheriff’s Department say the package had white powder inside of it. That powder was 2.5 grams of fentanyl. Deputies say the package came from out of state and the address on it didn’t entirely match the Glyndon family’s home but ended up there.

The Clay County Sheriff says the family is fortunate they didn’t open the package further and try to investigate it themselves. No further details are being released at this time, as deputies say it’s an active investigation.
