Inmate accused of choking corrections officer

BISMARCK, N.D. - A North Dakota State Penitentiary inmate is accused of choking a corrections officer.

Court documents say on the morning of March 12, 42-year-old Duane Landrus grabbed the officer by his neck and choked him until he couldn't breathe.

Landrus is also accused of grabbing the victims fingers and twisting them to try and break them.

Landrus is serving four years for an aggravated assault in Burleigh County. He has previously served five years for assaulting a peace officer in 2009.
