The House has passed a bill creating a grant program for workers for high-demand jobs in the state.

The vote was 83-10.

Students will be eligible for the program if they are completing an approved program through a North Dakota-approved institution, have a 2.75 GPA, already have a loan with the Bank of North Dakota and must stay in state to work in the high-demand occupation.

The Bank of North Dakota will be providing $5 million for the program, and there has to be a dollar for dollar match from the private sector.

The bill now heads to the Senate.
