UPDATE: Suspect arrested; victim identified in Minot Homicide investigation

MINOT, N.D. – UPDATE (5/12/2019): Minot Police say they have arrested 28-year-old Christopher Vickerman in connection with Friday's shooting in Northwest Minot.​ Vickerman will face a AA-felony charge of murder in the death of 55-year-old Mark Vickerman.

Christopher Vickerman, the son of Mark Vickerman, is held in custody in the Ward County Jail.

An autopsy is scheduled this week in Bismarck, and the investigation is ongoing. Minot Police thank the public for its help.

UPDATE: Minot Police have identified the victim in Friday afternoon's homicide as 55-year-old Mark Vickerman of Minot.

Police responded to a report of a man who had suffered a gunshot wound and found Vickerman dead in a northwest Minot home.

The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when it becomes available.

Police say there is no threat to the public.

Original Story: Minot Police say they are investigating a Friday afternoon homicide on the city’s northwest side.

Police say they were dispatched to a northwest Minot residence shortly before 3:45 p.m. for a man with a gunshot wound. Officers found a 55-year-old man dead in the home.

Police say they believe this is an isolated incident and there is no inherent danger to the public.
