BISMARCK, N.D. - North Dakota Highway Patrol detained a man at the Heritage Center for trying to assault one of the security officers. According to NDHP troopers on scene, the man was taken to Sanford Hospital for further evaluation.
NDHP says the man drove a truck to a rear courtyard entrance of the Heritage Center and entered the building. Then they got the call for assistance and detained the man.
Troopers were looking through his truck before it was towed out of the courtyard. They say there were no weapons or anything in there perceived as a threat.
NDHP also says there was no danger to the governor, lieutenant governor or first lady and no extra security measures for them were put into place. They added this is an ongoing investigation.
