MINOT, N.D. - Those commuting to and from the Minot Air Force Base might experience longer travel times during construction on Highway 83.
Crews are resurfacing the section of Highway 83 in between MAFB and County Road 10 on the north end of Minot. One lane will be closed at a time as work takes place and speeds are reduced where work is taking place.
Most of the project is expected to be complete within the next two weeks.
Commuters should allow for a little extra time while travelling.
“They're going to have to allow for a little more time where there's work going on. If they allow a few more minutes and then are patient with their fellow commuters, that's the key,” said Bob Allen, NDDOT assistant district engineer.
Road striping is expected to take place in early August.
