HETTINGER COUNTY, N.D. - All activities at the Hettinger County Fair came to a halt after a twister leveled a 4-H building.
Members of the Hettinger County Fair Board cancelled today's parade, 5Ks and 4-H exhibits for the public's safety. When the tornado hit last night, fair goers and staff had only 20 minutes to evacuate the grounds.
"I'm grateful, very grateful, our community worked great together, our people were cooperative and it was a great effort to make sure we had no casualties," said Alicia Gunwall, President Hettinger County Fair Board.
The demolition derby was also cancelled, the tornado caused major damage to the arena.
