The Legacy United Methodist Church has given away their Christmas Eve offerings to the homeless for the past 11 years.

This year, they gave more than $50,000 to the United Way and the Missouri Valley Coalition of Homeless People.

“It surprises me and blows me away every year, one of our values is extravagant generosity and they live it out in so many different ways throughout the year and you just see that magnified on Christmas Eve,” said Brandon Vetter, Pastor.

Vetter says that this years' recipients offer both compassion and justice, helping those experiencing homelessness with direct care and by addressing the systemic issue.
