MINOT, N.D. – A Minot man will serve just under three years in prison for his role in a counterfeit check scheme in 2014 and 2015 and for violating his probation.
State prosecutors say that 23-year-old Travis C. Black and three others passed fake $100 bills at several Minot businesses.
Black pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of forgery or counterfeiting, and also admitted to various probation violations for unrelated cases.
The judge agreed to throw out two other counts of forgery or counterfeiting.
Black will receive credit for time served.
The others were also charged in the counterfeit ring.
