Eight new softball fields are in the works at Cottonwood Park in Bismarck.
Almost two million was raised through donations, with the Parks and Rec Department paying the rest.
There will be four adult fields, and four youth fastball fields, costing $4.3 million. Additional parking, playgrounds, shelters and trails will also be added.
“We've really seen a need for more fields in our community and our girls would love the chance to play on good fields and we're just excited to actually see it come together finally,” Matt Liudahl with the Bismarck Youth Fastpitch Softball Association said.
According to a representative with KLJ Engineering, they're hoping to have the project complete in October.
