WILLISTON, N.D. - A Williston woman is organizing a community clothing drive after she found out how many people in the area are actually in need.
Caroline Rosenburg is the creator of the event, Winter Wishes for Williston. She is looking for donations of regular and cold-weather clothing, shoes, boots and work-wear. After getting an overwhelming response on Facebook, Rosenburg realized the need was a lot bigger than she initially thought.
“There’s been a lot of lay-offs in the oilfield right now. I spoke to a couple of different hotels, and I know that they’re full with families. There are four and five people in one hotel room because they can’t afford to get into an apartment,” said Roseburg.
All of the clothes will be free. The drive will be at the Williston Community Library on December 21 and 22 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and December 23 from 11 a.m. until they run out of clothes.
If you’d like to get a hold of Rosenburg to donate, call 814-926-6472 or message “Caroline Renee” on Facebook.
