BEULAH, N.D. - A former Beulah teacher accused of sending naked photos to a student waived her preliminary hearing and entered a not guilty plea.
Twenty-two-year-old Kelsie Schmidt is accused of sending naked Snapchats to a 17-year-old boy.
The affidavit says Mercer County Sheriff’s Department was called to the school in January after a student was heard saying he “could get the math teacher in trouble for pictures she had sent him.”
Deputies met with the victim and he showed them several Snapchats of Schmidt nude.
Court documents show the preliminary hearing scheduled for the end of February was waived and a not guilty plea was entered on behalf of Schmidt.
At the end of January, Schmidt resigned from her teaching position.
Schmidt has a pretrial conference on March 27 at 10 a.m. She’s charged with luring minors by computer.
