A Montana artist has filed a lawsuit against McQuade Distributing saying the beer distributor used his copyrighted piece of work without permission.

In court documents filed on November 26 Jon Wright accuses McQuade Distributing of sponsoring the Marina Bay Ice Fishing Tournament and using his image of the fish for its advertising poster.

Wright's company gave Anheuser-Busch permission to use the fish illustration for two years starting in 2007, the sketch was then distributed to McQuade for use on marketing materials.

Wright says he has lost royalties and licensing revenues through the use of his illustration outside of the two years Anheuser-Busch had permission.

Court documents say Wright is asking for an unspecified amount of money, attorney fees along and any profit McQaude made through the use of the image.
