Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Ward County
A 23-year-old man was killed after being struck by an SUV near Ryder Thursday night.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says that a northbound van was stopped on the shoulder of Highway 28 around 10:30 p.m. and the occupants had gotten out.
The victim chased after a dog that had gotten loose from the vehicle, crossed the roadway, and was struck by a southbound SUV.
The driver of the SUV, a 23-year-old woman from New Town, was not hurt.
No charges were filed. The victim's name is being withheld at this time.
