Fast-moving fire destroys at least 1,000 buildings in Northern California

At least 1,000 buildings burned Thursday, as a fast moving wildfire swept through the town of Paradise, Calif.

It expanded from just 10 acres to more than 10,000 in a matter of hours.

Multiple shelters have been opened, as the city's more than 27,000 residents flee to safety.

On social media, evacuees have described being stuck in their cars, watching as nearby homes burned.
