UPDATE 10/12: Fargo Police say that the death of a 23-year-old Bismarck woman in a Fargo hotel was likely the result of a medical issue and that foul play is not suspected at this time.

Officers were at the Red Roof Inn Tuesday after receiving a call about a woman in distress.

Emergency crews found the woman unresponsive and attempted CPR to revive her, but were unsuccessful.

Officials have not yet released the woman's name.


ORIGINAL STORY 10/10:Police responded to a woman in distress at the Red Roof Inn. After several attempts to save her, a 23-year-old woman from Bismarck, N.D., died.

Around 1:15 pm Tuesday afternoon, Fargo Police received a call for a woman in distress.

A woman was found unresponsive at the Red Roof Inn off Interstate 94.

When police got to the hotel, CPR was used to try and save her, but police say they were unsuccessful.

Officials are investigating whether the woman's death is medical or criminal. Her name has not been released.

Police are treating the incident as a crime scene.
