Carbon capture technology bill provides tax incentives for companies

WASHINGTON - Congress and the President have breathed new life into the coal industry.
The passage of the FUTURE Act, a bipartisan carbon capture technology bill, will provide tax incentives as companies develop technology to reduce carbon emissions.

"I can't wait to see the kinds of investments and the kinds of technological developments that are going to come from this incentive," said Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D.

The bill extends the construction window for carbon capture projects from five years to seven, and extends tax incentives from ten years to twelve.
