FAA awards $8 million in grants for XWA in Williston

WILLISTON, N.D. - Williston's XWA Airport will be getting $8 million in grants from the Federal Aviation Administration to fund overall airport construction.

U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao said in a statement:

"This significant investment in airport improvements at Williston Basin International Airport will fund construction and rehabilitation projects that will help maintain high levels of safety in U.S. aviation."

The FAA awarded a total of 432 grants in 47 states to fund infrastructure projects at 381 airports nationwide.
